Manager Paul Sturrock will sit down with Ryan Hall on Monday to discuss his future at Southend United.
Hall, 24, was the subject of much speculation on transfer deadline day on Friday.
And after missing training all this week through an illness Sturrock opted against including the winger in his matchday squad in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers.
“Ryan isn’t mentally attuned to play for Southend United at this moment in time as he has other things on his mind,” Paul revealed after Britt Assombalong’s first half header handed Southend their first win of the season.
“I will have to have a chat with him on Monday and see where the land lies.
“At the end of the day he is a signed registered player and although things have not worked out for him I know he wants to play football.”
