Tomlin returns to the starting line-up after a groin problem whilst Straker replaces John Spicer who misses the match with suspension.

Southend: Smith, Clohessy, Straker, Cresswell, Eastwood, Timlin, Hurst, Prosser, Assombalonga, Tomlin, Barker.

Subs: Bentley, Coughlan, Martin, Benyon, Paxman, Woodyard, Njie.
