Winger Kevan Hurst is looking forward to returning to the Globe Arena this weekend.
Southend United face Morecambe on Saturday in npower League Two.
And after spending four months with the Shrimps in 2011, Hurst is hoping to put one over on some old friends.
“I spent some time on loan at Morecambe from Carlisle a few seasons ago,” Hurst told the official website.
“There are still some people there from before and the manager now was there as well.
“I was only there the back end of the season but I enjoyed it.
“I needed to get some games as I wasn’t playing much at Carlisle so I took the opportunity and everyone made me welcome.
“So I am looking forward to getting up there and getting three points.”
Hurst played 21 times under ex-boss Sammy McIlroy on loan from Carlisle United.
He scored two goals during that spell but knows that current boss Jim Bentley will have his team well prepared.
“They are a organised and a big side which is handy at this level. Set piece wise we have to be on our toes.
“But confidence is high right now we just need replicate it this weekend.
“If we play anything like we did at Rotherham then we will get a result we need.
“When you look at what they have spent and the players they have got we looked head and shoulders above them.
“We have got to keep that going and not get carried by making sure we put the same discipline and effort in I am sure we will get a result.”
