School pupils in Southend have been busy learning about ways to keep active and healthy as part of a new programme called Healthy Choices.
Delivered by Southend United’s award winning Community & Educational Trust, in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund Awards for All initiative, the Healthy Choices programme will be delivered to over 200 pupils.
Students from Milton Hall Primary School, Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, St. Marys C.of E. Primary School and St. Helens Catholic Primary School will all take part in the programme.
The Healthy Choices programme demonstrates to pupils the benefits of exercise and how to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
This will be delivered through a variety of practical and theory sessions aimed at engaging pupils in a fun and informative way.
Dale Spiby, chief executive of Southend United Community & Educational Trust said: “We are delighted that the Big Lottery Fund Awards for All initiative has provided support to this important programme.
“With a fantastic summer of sport that enthralled us all, this is the perfect opportunity to engage the young people of Southend and encourage good practice which will ultimately lead a healthier lifestyle.”
