Blues recruit Futsal players

Southend United Community & Educational Trust is offering 16-18-year-olds potential stars of the future the opportunity of a Futsal & Education Scholarship.

The scheme is set up to create the opportunity of representing your local football club whilst receiving a first class education. 

Based from Roots Hall, the selected candidates will be work towards a BTEC L3 in Sport Performance & Excellence on a state of the art interactive learning platform whilst receiving quality coaching from a Southend United coach at the David Lloyd Fitness Centre.

Every Wednesday, the team will pull on a Southend United strip and travel to the finest Futsal Arenas in the country to represent the club against other professional football clubs.

Sarah Lock, Education Officer said: “This programme is the first of its kind and an excellent way of combining an academic course whilst enjoying the benefits that comes with playing football for your local professional club."

SUCET are holding an information road show at the following times and locations:

Tuesday 9th October
Shoebury - Shoebury Youth Centre – 10-11am
Rochford - Freight House – 12-1pm
Canvey - Knightwick Centre – 2-3pm

Wednesday 10th October
Basildon – Eastgate Centre – 10-11am
Castle Point – Swans Green Hall – 12-1pm
Rayleigh – The Mill – 2-3pm

Anyone is welcome to attend at the above dates and booking is not required.
