Gavin Tomlin and Britt Assombalonga took their goal tally to eight strikes in the last three games on Saturday.
The Blues pair were both on target in Southend’s 3-1 win against Rochdale at Roots Hall.
That fired United up to fourth place in the npower League Two table and that statistic delighted Assombalonga.
“Things are going really well at the moment and we certainly can’t complain too much,” Britt told the official website.
“As a team we’ve got 11 goals in three games and that’s down to the whole team.
“Everyone is playing a part but I’m really pleased Gav is scoring regularly because he’s been fantastic for me all season.
“He’s always talking to me and helping me out when we’re on the pitch and he’s been very good all season.
“But now he’s getting the goals as well as the good performances and it’s great to see.”
Tomlin bagged his fifth goal in three games when he put Southend ahead in the 59th minute.
And the Blues forward was delighted to maintain his impressive scoring streak.
“The ball just dropped to me in front of goal for a simple finish, but that wouldn’t have happened for me at the start of the season,” said Tomlin.
“It would’ve gone past me or gone to someone else, but it’s a different story now and I always thought that would happen.
“You have to stay positive, so I thought the goals would come and it’s working out really well with Britt and I at the moment.
“The most important thing with him is that he’s willing to listen and learn and you don’t tend to get many young players like that any more.”
