Corr handed start

Striker Barry Corr has been handed a start for today’s FA Cup first round match against Stockport County.

The Irishman has been selected in the starting line-up for the first time since April 2011.

He is joined by Michael Timlin who returns following an ankle injury whilst Mark Phillips is boss Paul Sturrock’s third change.

The pair replace Freddy Eastwood and Anthony Straker respectively, both of whom are on the bench.

Today’s match is the Blues 1,500th at Roots Hall in League and Cup matches.

Southend: Smith, Clohessy, Cresswell, Timlin, Corr, Hurst, Phillips, Tomlin, Barker, Laird, Woodyard.

Subs: Bentley, Straker, Eastwood, Martin, Prosser, Leonard, Benyon.
