The 18-year-old winger had been on loan from the npower Championship outfit.
However, he has now returned to London Road following a short spell with the Blues.
“Jonson is going back to Peterborough,” Sturrock told the official website.
“He’s 18-years-old, we have been very lucky with Britt (Assombalonga).
“Jonson has the attributes to be a good player but he needs the experience and at the moment I can’t give him that.”
