Southend United have completed the permanent signing of left-back Anthony Straker today. The Blues have secured the former Aldershot Town defender on a two-year deal ahead of the new season.
As Straker is 23-years-old the transfer will be subject to a fee, which if the two sides cannot agree will be set by a Football League tribunal.
The defender started his career at Crystal Palace before joining Aldershot in 2007.
Straker has since gone on to make 222 appearances for the Shots and has developed a reputation as an attack-minded defender who can deliver accurate crosses.
He can also operate in midfield and has played international football for Grenada, having previously represented England at under-18 level.
His reaction to the move will appear on southendunited.co.uk shortly.
