Southend get hands on Trophies

29 July 2012

Southend United’s backroom staff got the opportunity of a lifetime to day as they got their hands on the World Cup.

The Blues coaching team spent an hour at the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s headquarters this afternoon where current World Cup and European Champions Spain had the trophies on display.

The coaches were able to learn about the countries history in the game as well as pose for photos with the two magnificent trophies.

It proved the perfect activity ahead of tonight’s second friendly of the Madrid tour against Rayo Vallecano B at their training complex Ciudad Deportiva Fundación Rayo Vallecano.

Saturday’s match with Real Madrid C ended 3-1 to the hosts with Neil Harris on target for Southend.

Kick-off this evening is at 7pm (6pm BST) and we will once again be providing live updates via our Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/SUFCRootsHall.
