Unbeaten Tamika just happy to be playing

Midfielder yet to lose since joining Blues on loan from Millwall

Tamika Mkadanwire hasn’t lost a game since he joined Southend United – and he’s determined to keep it that way.

Influential midfielder Tamika has not been on the losing side since joining from Millwall, and capped his sixth outing for Blues with a goal in the 2-1 win against League 1 Brentford.

Speaking after the game, Tamika said: “That’s right, I haven’t been on the losing side yet and hopefully that can continue.

“The lads are playing really well and we’re picking up some great results just like tonight against Brentford.

“They are a very good League 1 side and while they may have made a few changes, it’s good to beat them.

“I don’t get many goals either, it’s usually just one a season, so that’s me done, but I’m just happy to be playing and winning games.”

Having suffered with injuries last season, Tamika didn’t make an appearance after November, so he’s delighted to be back playing regular football.

He added: “I’m really enjoy my football at the moment and it’s great to be back playing.

“Obviously when you’re out for a long time it’s difficult and when you come back you need to pick it back up quickly.

“I can feel myself getting fitter and fitter and improving game by game and that’s all I want really.

“Playing week-in-week-out is what I want to be doing and I’m thankful to be getting the chance to do that here at Southend.”
