Blues boss says our Essex Senior Cup game will provide first-team fringe players with good game time
Blues boss Paul Sturrock says Wednesday night’s Essex Senior Cup tie against Hullbridge Sports will give a number of the first-team squad who haven’t featured recently a chance to get some minutes under their belts and impress.
Assistant Manager Graham Coughlan will take a side to Lower Road for the game tomorrow, 7:45pm kick off, against Hullbridge Sports.
Speaking ahead of the game, Paul said: “In recent weeks we’ve not had to make too many changes to our side.
“That has meant some players haven’t had much time on the pitch, and with no reserve league and poor weather it’s been very tough to get them some minutes under their belt.
“We’ll take a side there who will want to try and impress, but most importantly it will give them the chance of minutes on the pitch so they keep ticking over.
“Our whole squad could well be tested over Christmas because it is such a busy time, so to have them getting some minutes will only be a good thing.”
Tickets for the game are £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
