Midfielder felt Blues just needed that bit of luck to win the game
Anthony Straker felt Blues just didn’t get that bit of luck they needed in the 0-0 draw with Fleetwood Town.
Straker, on his return to the side, thought he’d put Blues ahead inside the first five minutes, only to see the flag up for offside.
Marc Laird then had the ball in the net, but his effort was ruled out for the ball apparently going out of play from Sean Clohessy’s cross.
Speaking after the game, Straker said: “You look back at the game and you just have to say that things didn’t quite go our way.
“We had the ball in the back of the net twice and each one was ruled out but the lads and I weren’t convinced.
“I asked the referee why my goal had been disallowed and he said one of the other lads were offside – I thought he got that wrong.
“Then for Marc’s apparently the ball went out of play. Sometimes them decisions go with you and sometimes they don’t.
“Unfortunately today they didn’t, but we are still pleased to extend the unbeaten run.”
For Anthony, it was great to be back in the starting XI, and although he missed an opportunity to put Blues ahead, he hopes he has done enough to keep his place.
“Sometimes you just hit the ball too well,” he said. “Maybe that’s what happened there, I was a bit disappointed.
“It was just good to be out there playing and I was happy to just be involved.
“Hopefully I have done enough to keep my place in the side and can play a part against Bury on Tuesday.”
