Hurst, Barker and Sturrock thank Blues fans
Kevan Hurst, Chris Barker and Paul Sturrock praised the support shown by the Blues faithful on Boxing Day at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Nearly 1,400 fans made the short trip and Blues delivered with a 3-0 win to make it 14 games without defeat.
Kevan, who got the third goal, said: “They were quality, absolutely quality, and made some real noise.
“The away support has been absolutely fantastic all season and today it was almost like we were at home.
“That support can play a massive part away from home so we’re delighted to get the three points.
“My goal is my Christmas present to all the fans who came to the game.”
Blues skipper Chris Barker supported those comments, and urged fans to make the trip to Burton on Saturday.
He said: “They were absolutely brilliant at the Dagenham game, and really gave the lads a big lift.
“We were delighted to be able to get the three points for them.
“Hopefully we will get good numbers at Burton on Saturday and we can pick up another important win.”
Boss Paul Sturrock added: “The away fans have been able to enjoy some very good away performances, today was more about the result.
“I’m sure the fans enjoyed that win today against local rivals.
“They’ve been brilliant all season and we need their support again on Saturday.”
