Blues boss full of praise for front pair
Paul Sturrock was full of praise for his front pair after Blues won 3-0 at Dagenham and Redbridge to move to 14 games without defeat.
Gavin Tomlin scored twice in the opening 15 minutes but Paul was also delighted with the showing of Gavin's strike partner, Britt Assombalonga.
Sturrock said: "Gavin scored two excellent goal and was a real handful all afternoon, he was unlucky not to get the hat-trick.
"Britt is a young man who wants to be scoring goals but his all-round play this afternoon was sensational.
"His first touch for the second goal where he set up Gavin was excellent and he and Gav linked up well all afternoon.
"I had a little word with him when he came off because he wants goals, but I was absolutely delighted with his performance.
"Unfortunately he picked up a little injury which is a shame and we will have to assess him before Saturday."
Paul was pleased with the professional display of his side, having taken the lead so early in the game.
"Sometimes when you score so early you worry a little bit about the way the side keep playing," he added.
"But it was extremely professional from the lads. We didn't pass the ball as well as we probably can but it's a very good win.
"It will put pressure on other sides around us again because points on the board is the most important thing.
"We will rest up as much as possible ahead of the trip to Burton on Saturday.
