Midfielder sees draw against Fleetwood as a point gained
Blues midfielder Marc Laird left Highbury Stadium feeling it was a point gained for Blues after the 0-0 draw with Fleetwood Town.
Laird, along with Anthony Straker, had goals controversially ruled out, but the on-loan Leyton Orient midfielder felt picking up a point on the road was a good result.
Marc said: “Of course, we had two goals ruled out for different reasons and the lads are slightly confused by them both.
“But that’s football and I think we have to be positive and say coming here and getting a point is a good result.
“They’ve got some excellent, experienced players and are doing well in the league.
“Add to that the fact they’ve just got a new manager and today was always going to be difficult.
“So to pick up a point, and have almost won the game is excellent. Of course, that means the unbeaten run is now ten matches too.”
Laird is thoroughly enjoying his football with Blues, but is just concentrating on putting in good performances week-in-week-out, rather than his future in January.
He added: “I’m really enjoying playing my football here at the moment and I get on well with all the lads.
“I haven’t thought about what happens in January because all I’m thinking about is the next match.
“We’re on a very good run, and I’m just happy to be playing regularly so we want to keep that up.
“Hopefully we can beat Bury on Tuesday night and get into the next round of the FA Cup.”
