Goalscorer dedicates goal to family and Blues fans
Kevan Hurst dedicated his stunning strike that sealed Blues 3-0 win against Dagenham to the brilliant fans and his family who were at the game.
Hurst’s family watched on as he hit an excellent 25-yard strike to make it 3-0 and send Blues travelling support of nearly 1,400 into raptures.
And Kevan said: “My family were all here at the game watching so the game was a bit more special for myself.
“To get a goal as well was absolutely brilliant, so that one was for the fans and my family.
“It was great to get that goal because it came at an important stage of the game, let’s say that was my Christmas present to the supporters.
“That goal probably helped myself because I didn’t think I had my best game, but to get the goal was superb.”
While he may not have been pleased with his own performance, Kevan praised Blues’ professional performance.
He added: “It was a good performance because sometimes when you score early you can drop off.
“We were professional in the second half and played some good football at times – a clean sheet is always important.
“It was a pleasure to be playing behind Britt and Gavin today because they were exceptional.
“Gavin can’t stop scoring at the moment and Britt’s workrate and energy is simply brilliant.”
