Striker has his eyes set on promotion after loan extension
Britt Assombalonga says he is dreaming of promotion with Blues after extending his loan deal until the end of the season.
The Watford loanee who has 12 goals since joining on loan has been in fine form for Blues, and will now play a huge part in Paul Sturrock’s promotion plans.
Speaking the day after agreeing to stay longer on loan, Britt said: “The lads here have made me feel like one of their own and I’m really enjoying it.
“I’m playing lots of football, working hard and I feel like I’m improving all of the time.
“My agent has done most of the talking with Southend and Watford but I was always keen on staying here until the end of the season.
“But Watford were happy for me to stay here and continue my development which is great.”
And there’s only one thing on Britt’s mind after agreeing the new deal: Promotion.
“That’s the aim, if we were to do that it would be an absolute dream,” he added.
“It will of course be the first of my career so it would be special.
“We’re playing well and picking up points. We’ve not lost for a while but we need to start picking up some wins after a couple of draws.
“Christmas is always a difficult period but if we can come out with our form still good then we’ve got every chance.”
