Eastwood (2), Martin, Benyon and Payne all get on the scoresheet
Southend United moved into the quarter-finals of the Essex Senior Cup thanks to a comfortable 5-0 win against Hullbridge Sports at a sodden Lower Road.
Freddy Eastwood opened the scoring from just a couple of yards out midway through the first half after good work from David Martin down the left hand side.
Blues had struggled up to that point in treacherous conditions, but found some momentum after the break and doubled their lead when Martin got on the scoresheet himself.
Elliot Benyon then made it 3-0 to put the game beyond doubt with an excellent finish from the edge of the area into the top corner.
Eastwood scored his second of the evening, again from just a couple of yards following Benyon's header into his path, to make it 4-0 to Blues.
Jack Payne came off the bench to grab an injury-time fifth after good work from midfielder John Spicer to round off a comfortable win for Graham Coughlan's side.
The win sets up a quarter-final tie against Waltham Abbey of the Ryman Football League North Division. A date for this fixture has yet to be arranged.
