Southend United kick-off the first of three home matches in seven days on Saturday when Wycombe Wanderers visit Roots Hall.
Blues boss Paul Sturrock is still seeking his sides first win of the season whilst Wanderers are looking to put last weekend’s abandoned match against Bristol Rovers behind them.
Gary Waddock brings his Chairboys side to Roots Hall after making three signings this week.
Midfielder Michael Timlin is available again following his one match suspension. He is expected to go straight into the starting line-up.
Meanwhile, striker Freddy Eastwood returns to training today following a calf problem whilst winger Dave Martin is a doubt with an ankle injury.
Wycombe Wanderers could hand debuts to Jo Kuffour, Adam Thompson and Matt Parsons after the trio joined the club this week.
Former Southend youth team product Leon Johnson is expected to line-up in midfield.
From the Dugout
Paul Sturrock: “We are the home side and we have to get three points on board as quick as we can. Confidence is always eroded when you are not winning. Heads can go down very easily and we don’t want that.”
Gary Waddock: “Jo (Kuffour) is a good player who is experienced at this level and the one above, so we’re delighted to have brought him in. It’s also good to have got Adam because he’s been on our radar for quite some time. He’s only 19 but has played international football, played in the Championship and in League One so he’s a good signing for us.”
