Team swap footballs for cricket balls

2 August 2012

Southend United’s players will be swapping footballs for cricket balls tonight at 5:30pm.

The team will be taking on Southend Cricket Club at Southchurch Park in a Twenty20 clash.

And Blues striker Neil Harris revealed the squad are looking forward to changing sports.

“I’m sure it will be good entertainment for everyone,” said Harris.

“I’m wicket-keeper and Chris Barker and Ryan Hall will be opening the batting so hopefully we can do well.”

Entrance is free for supporters and fans will be able to meet the players for autographs after the match.
