Midfielder John Spicer will finally get another opportunity to impress manager Paul Sturrock tonight.
The ex-Notts County and Bournemouth player missed out on the chance to play during the Blues pre-season tour of Madrid with a thigh problem.
That injury also curtailed his trial against Ipswich Town a week ago but he will now feature this evening against Millwall.
“It was unfortunate that John picked up a problem when he did,” manager Paul Sturrock told the official website.
“It meant he couldn’t be involved in Spain but he has stayed with us and he’s now fit enough to play tonight.
“We will take a look at him and then we need to really start thinking about making a decision as the season isn’t far off now.”
Spicer has previously played in pre-season matches at Great Wakering Rovers and Braintree Town and he will be joined by a strong side against Championship outfit Millwall.
Former Lions Mark Phillips and Neil Harris are expected to start at Roots Hall whilst Ryan Hall and Kevan Hurst will also be involved.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm at Roots Hall with tickets still available priced £10 for adult Season Card Holders and £12 for non Season Card Holders with concessions just £5.
Please note the East Stand is now only open for this fixture and fans with tickets for the West Stand should call the Box Office on 08444 77 00 77 to arrange a transfer.
