Prosser faces former side

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Luke Prosser will partner Mark Phillips at the back tonight.

The ex-Spurs trainee will line-up against a Tottenham XI at Roots Hall in Blues last pre-season friendly. 

He replaces Ryan Cresswell who limped off in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Millwall with a slight groin problem. 

Meanwhile, trialist John Spicer partners Kane Ferdinand in midfielder whilst goalkeeper Daniel Bentley starts also. 

Freddy Eastwood starts with Neil Harris in attack. 

There are also places on the subs bench for trialists Stephen Brogan and Scott Donnelly. 

Southend: Bentley, Clohessy, Straker, Leonard, Phillips, Prosser, Hall, Ferdinand, Harris, Eastwood, Spicer. 

Subs: Barker, Chambers, Hurst, Martin, Brogan, Donnelly, Benyon.
