Hall dropped at Oxford

Winger Ryan Hall is only a substitute for tonight's npower League Two clash at Oxford United.

The Blues midfielder has been dropped to the substitutes bench in favour of midfielder Kevan Hurst.

Meanwhile, defenders Ryan Cresswell and Anthony Straker replace Chris Barker and Luke Prosser at the back whilst Cameron Belford keeps his place in goal.

Midfielder John Spicer comes into the centre of park with Kane Ferdinand pushing up behind striker Gavin Tomlin as Watford loanee Britt Assombalonga drops to the bench.

Mark Phillips has been handed the armband with both Chris Barker and Neil Harris on the bench.

Southend: Belford, Clohessy, Phillips, Cresswell, Straker, Leonard, Spicer, Timlin, Hurst, Ferdinand, Tomlin.

Subs: Hall, Smith, Barker, Assombalonga, Harris, Prosser, Benyon.
