Directions to Roots Hall

By Car: From M25 take Junction 29 and follow the A127 to Southend. Continue towards the town centre, through the lights. At the next roundabout turn right (3rd turning), continuing on the A127. The ground is on the right just past the next traffic lights.

By Train: The closest station to the ground is Prittlewell on the Abellio Greater Anglia service, which is about a five-minute walk away. It is served by trains from London Liverpool Street. As you exit the station walk up the hill and turn right, then follow the road until you come to a crossroad with traffic lights. On your right will be the ‘Fish House’, fish and chip shop. Pass this, cross at the lights and turn right. Walk about 100 yards and the ground is tucked away on your left.

Other stations in Southend include Southend Victoria (Abellio Greater Anglia), Southend Central (C2C) and Southend East (C2C).

If you’re driving to Roots Hall we, unfortunately, do not offer any parking at the ground, but Southend High School for boys charge just £5 for parking on a matchday and is located a short 10 minute walk away from the ground.

If parking is unavailable here then we recommend searching for an available space nearby.

There are many places around or inside the ground to get something to eat from, these include:

South-East Corner: A food bar is in the south-east corner which is for those sitting in the Trade Price Cars South Stand.

The Tunnel: Situated in the East Stand tunnel, reached via the Far Post Bar entrance to the ground.

East Stand Food Bar: Accessed via the north-east turnstiles, it is above the Groundsman's Bar.

West Bar Burger Unit: This is right next to the West Stand Bar for those sat in the West Stand.

Sammy's Snack Shack: This is opposite the Family Room in the South Stand, at the back of the Rayleigh Karting Family Area.

Southend United also have plenty of places fans can go for a drink, these are;

Shrimpers Bar: Located in the East Stand, head down the stairs in the top car park. Open to away fans.

Far Post Bar: Directly above Shrimpers Bar.

Groundsman's Arms: Located next to turnstiles 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 12A (north-east),

West Stand Bar: For those going through turnstiles 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26.
