16-year-old midfielder George Smith is currently on international duty with the Republic of Ireland in Greece.

The Blues youth team player is aiming to help Ireland's under 17 team qualify for the European Championships in May this year.

Ireland has been pitted in Group 3 of the Elite Phase Qualifiers for the tournament which is set to be held in Liechtenstein later this year.

Included in the Irish's group are Austria, Finland and Greece with Smith remaining in Patras, Greece until the 25 March.

Ireland face Greece on Friday morning, before playing Finland on Sunday afternoon before completing their final match on Wednesday week against Austria.

If Smith's side can top their group they will automatically qualify for May's finals.
