Southend United youngsters Callum Whittaker and George Smith have been called up to international training camps today.

The Blues duo, both part of United's under 18's squad, will link-up with Northern Ireland under 19's and Republic of Ireland under 17's respectively.

Whittaker represented the under 18 side in January during a week long tournament in Gran Canaria.

And now the central defender will take part in a two day training camp at Lilleshall between 28th and 29th June.

Meanwhile, central midfielder George Smith will travel to Dublin with the Republic of Ireland's under 17 squad for a training match later this month.

The former Tottenham Hotspur trainee will spend two days with the squad between 20th and 21st June.

The duo are just two of the Blues talented youngsters that will be on display this summer in the Toomey Trophy here at Roots Hall.

Youth teams from Premier League outfits Arsenal, Everton and Fulham will be visiting Essex for the two day tournament.
