Southend United are pleased to announce a benefit match for former player Spencer Prior will take place at the end of the season.
Another of Prior's former teams Coca-Cola Championship outfit Derby County will visit Roots Hall on Tuesday, May 5 (kick-off 7.45pm) for a match in aid of Little Havens Children's Hospice.
Prior, who spent six years as a professional at Southend United in two spells, will feature for both sides in the game following the conclusion of the Blues League One season.
Derby's first team, led by boss Nigel Clough, will face Steve Tilson's Southend side.
Tickets for this match are now on sale from the Blues Box Office priced at £10 for adults/seniors/students and £2 for children. Please note only the Southend Echo East Stand is open for this fixture currently.
A percent of proceeds from the match will be benefiting local children's hospice Little Havens.
38-year-old Prior is currently living in Sydney, Australia with his wife Clare and three children Charlotte, Natasha, and Millie
Speaking about the benefit match Spencer said: "I am really looking forward to coming back to England and seeing everybody again.
"I am a Southend boy and I am really proud of my time with the Blues. It's great that the game is also against one of my old teams as I also remember my spell at Derby fondly. I made many friends there and I feel proud to have been a part of a wonderful side.
"I would like to thank both Steve Tilson and Nigel Clough for agreeing to the game and hopefully we can raise a lot of money for Little Havens, a charity I am very passionate about."
Supporters can purchase tickets for this match now from the Blues Box Office by calling 08444 77 00 77 or by visiting in person.
