NORHALNE: DAY TWO
Posted on: Thu 20 May 2010
Following our late arrival, the players enjoyed a nice late wake up call before getting up to shower and have their first Danish Continental Breakfast of the tour.
The morning consisted of our players being invloved in team squad briefings prior to going outside to train and prepare for the days ahead on the nice pitches of Biersted Sports Complex.
The weather has been overcast with the odd small shower over the course of the day, but this has not dampen our spirits in the camp, as the players are enjoying themselves. Certain aspects are being encouraged and we look forward to observing the players which wish to progress and learn in the information provided by the staff.
Following lunch, afternoon actvities consisted of Technical Olympics - a competition which involved all players from all squads competing against each other in individual football techniques in our Indoor Complex. This proved to be a great exercise and the competition between each other was great. All four squads battled away to gain points against each other in a series of individual tasks, with the final round proving decisive in points with the youngest group winning the Olympics! The joyful scenes of the 'underdogs' winning has certainly inspired their confidence for tomorrow morning!
With free time and a time of players to conduct diaries of events so far, dinner was not too far away. Following Dinner, each squad got together for a team meeting, prior to preparing for bed, in preparation for tomorrow morning when the tournament begins.
The coaches are been very impressed so far with certain individual performances relating to 'off the pitch' aspects and no doubt this will support their 'on the pitch' aspects in the days ahead.
The boys are very excited and with a early night to support their sleep and rest for the days ahead we look forward to hopefully observing some positive performances and results.
Tomorrow morning will be an earlier wake up call to ensure our preparation is done with the best interests to give each player the opportunity to perform well.
All the squads will be beginning to commence in their group fixtures so it will be an action packed day ahead.
Under 9's - B20 (Ginge's Squad) x 4 Fixtures
Under 10's - B19 (Ben Duncan's Squad) x 2 Fixtures
Under 10's - B18 (James Powell Squad) x 2 Fixtures
Under 10's - E39 (Centre of Excellence - Elite Class) (Steve King Squad) x 1 Fixture
All the scores can be found by logging on to the Norhalne Cup website later in the day
