Southend United will trial Scottish midfielder Grant Kerr in this afternoon's reserve game.
Kerr will line-up against Watford at Roots Hall in the Totesport.com Combination League fixture (2pm).
Kerr, 26, has previously spent the last few years with Fordham University in the United States.
He spent four years with New York institution playing in the NCCA and majored in Business Administration.
Originally from Linlithgow in Scotland, Kerr was a former apprentice with Everton and has trialled with Bradford City and Shrewsbury Town this season.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Kelvin Jack will also feature for the first time since signing non-contract terms at Roots Hall.
Jack, 33, joined as cover for Steve Mildenhall following Ian Joyce's departure from the Club two weeks ago.
He is joined by midfielder Anthony Grant who will play 45 minutes against the Hornets as he returns to fitness following a month out with an ankle injury.
