Clark Masters was signed by Southend in January 2008 from Brentford.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper was immediately loaned out to Conference outfit Stevenage, where he made three appearances towards the end of last season.
Masters was a product of Brentford's youth team and made 12 appearances prior to arriving at Roots Hall on a free transfer.
Masters is seen as a goalkeeper for the future at Southend and is likely to spend this season out on loan again.
