TUESDAY'S PRESS TALK

Posted on: Tue 23 Feb 2010

Sanchez Watt is a doubt for Southend United's tough looking trip to table-topping Norwich City tonight. The on-loan left winger from Arsenal is still struggling with a head injury. And he may miss out on this evening's encounter at Carrow Road. "Sanchez actually picked up a head problem during the game with Tranmere a couple of weeks ago and he's been feeling it ever since," confirmed Blues boss Steve Tilson.

Spencer Prior feels Southend United could be facing a Norwich City backlash when two of his former teams meet at Carrow Road tonight. The table topping Canaries had won nine of their last 10 games before being beaten at home by Southampton on Saturday. And Prior is certain that City will be desperate to immediately bounce back against Blues. "It's obviously a very hard game for Southend and I don't think they are helped by Norwich losing at the weekend," said the former centre-back.

Southend's new goalkeeper Kelvin Jack says he is delighted to have earned a contract with the League One side. The former Trinidad & Tobago international joined the club until the end of the season earlier this month. Jack, 33, is back to full fitness after breaking his leg on trial at Barnsley two years ago. He told BBC Essex: "You never know what could happen, obviously Steve (Mildenhall) is playing well, but I'm there to push him as best as I can."
