AS Southend United raced into pole position last weekend against Brentford with a 4-1 win the Blues players have taken to the race track this week.

United's players, courtesy of shirt back sponsors BigWeekends.com, spent Tuesday at the Go-Karting track in a break from the normal training régime.

Blues defender Duncan Jupp remained the pre-race favourite to take the number one spot following two previous victories in similar days out.

However, Mark Gower crossed the line in first place before a dramatic twist in the pits saw the final result alter.
