HIGHLIGHTS : Gills v Blues action now online

SOUTHEND United hit seventh heaven on Saturday as they equaled an 81-year record against Gillingham.

Blues latest win, 2-1 against the Gills, was Steve Tilson's sides 7th consecutive victory in the League - a feat not seen at Roots Hall since 1924.

Following a midweek victory against YeovilTown - United made one change to their starting line-up - Freddy Eastwood replacing the injured Shaun Goater.

However, it was makeshift winger Mark Bentley who stole the plaudits this time round as he became the third player in a row to grab a brace for Southend.

The former Dagenham midfielder struck ten minutes after half-time from Kevin Maher's free-kick before capatilising on a goalkeeping error twenty minutes from time to coolly roll the ball into an empty net from 30-yards.

Gills did pull one back in the closing stages and despite five minutes additional time Blues held on for all three points.
