Posted on: Thu 09 Jun 2011

Neil Harris has agreed terms with Southend United and is set to sign for the Blues on a three year contract subject to a medical and once formalities have been completed.

Boss Paul Sturrock has made Harris his first signing of the summer by securing the 33-year-old on a three-year deal.

Harris put pen to paper on the deal after the Lions agreed to allow their all time record goalscorer to leave the Den.

Harris has made over 500 career appearances and scored a phenomenal 146 goals in a career that has spanned 14-years.

In two spells at Millwall, Bomber as he is affectionately known, scored an incredible 138 times.

The Rayleigh based forward had a year to run on his deal with Kenny Jackett's side but after Harris expressed his desire to sign for Southend, the side he can regularly be seen watching at Roots Hall, Millwall reluctantly agreed to the move.
