STURROCK HOPES TO KICK HABIT

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Manager Paul Sturrock does not want losing to become a habit for his Southend United side.

His side visit Bradford City this evening with just one win from their opening five matches of the season.

And boss Sturrock knows his side must soon put things right as he bids to get his team moving in the right direction.

"Winning becomes a habit but so does losing and we have to break that as quickly as we can," said Sturrock.

"It's been a difficult start to the season and the standard of our opposition has played a part in that.

"They have been tough games and this evening's one will be as well because Bradford are a good side.

"But we need to get three points as quickly as we can and it would be great to move up the table before everyone else plays tomorrow."

Blues, who are 22nd in the early League Two standings, go in to the game at Valley Parade on the back of an encouraging Carling Cup display at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
