The draw for the second round of the Carling Cup takes place tonight at 10.15pm live on Sky Sports News.

Blues will learn who their opponents will be in the next round of the competition following the outcome of this evening's first round matches.

Paul Sturrock's side could now meet a Premier League side with those teams not involved in European football entering the competition.

That includes the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United and Everton.

The draw is seeded based on last season's league tables. Therefore, the 24 highest placed qualifying clubs will be seeded and the lowest 24 clubs un-seeded.
