HERD OUT OF RUSHDEN TRIP

Posted on: Tue 27 Jul 2010

Defender Johnny Herd is struggling with an ankle injury ahead of Wednesday's pre-season friendly with Rushden and Diamonds.

Left-back Herd took a knock in Friday's 1-1 draw at Salisbury City.

And having missed training on Monday and Tuesday the 20-year-old is likely to sit out tomorrow nights clash at Nene Park.

"I took a bit of a knock to my ankle against Salisbury," confirmed Herd.

"It is a bit sore and bruised at the moment and I haven't been able to train the last two days.

"I don't think I will play against Rushden but hopefully with a bit of rest I could be OK for Eastbourne this weekend."

Also unavailable for the trip to face the Blue Square Premier side are Peter Gilbert (ankle) Sofiene Zaaboub (groin) and Sturrock (thigh).
