Blues boss Paul Sturrock has added another player to his squad today as he continues to rebuild ahead of the new season.

Joining Southend United on a pre-contract agreement is former Aldershot Town winger Louie Soares.

Soares, 25, has spent the last four years with the Shots where he made 147 appearances.

The Barbados international, who has two caps and one goal for the Caribbean Island, has featured on the right-wing for the Blues during pre-season.

Soares has been on trial during the Blues last two pre-season friendlies and will have his registrations lodged with the Football League once the transfer embargo is lifted.

Soares, who has signed a one-year contract, takes Sturrock's signings to 10 during his first fortnight at Roots Hall.
