SCANNELL TURNS DOWN OFFER

Southend United can confirm that winger Damian Scannell has turned down the Club's offer of a new two-year contract.

Blues offered the 25-year-old a new deal at the end of the season following United's relegation into League Two.

But the former Eastleigh winger has decided not to extend his stay at Roots Hall.

It is believed that Scannell will shortly join an unnamed League One side.
