Southend United boss Steve Tilson could hand a first start to 18-year-old striker Harry Crawford against Stockport County on Saturday.
Crawford has made five first team substitute appearances for the Blues this season.
The product of United's youth system came off the bench against Oldham Athletic last weekend to set-up Jean-Yves M'voto's equaliser in the 2-2.
Meanwhile, Stuart O'Keefe could also be pushing for a start with both Francis Laurent and Jean-Francois Christophe sidelined with hamstring injuries.
The pair limped off last weekend with the problems and are unlikely to feature again this season.
Captain Adam Barrett will also sit out Saturday's match against Stockport with the same injury.
The centre-back lasted only 15 minutes at Boundary Park before being replaced by M'Voto who is likely to start alongside Pat Baldwin tomorrow.
United are also without Damian Scannell (foot) and Scott Spencer (ankle) whilst left-back Scott Malone was recalled by Wolves yesterday.
That means boss Tilson is likely to draft in some of the youth team onto the substitutes bench.
