BARRETT DOUBT FOR SATURDAY
Southend United captain Adam Barrett is doubtful for Saturday's match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Barrett pulled out in the warm-up of Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Brentford with a hamstring problem.
And that injury looks set to sideline the skipper when the Seagulls visit Roots Hall on Saturday.
"I've slightly strained my hamstring and, unfortunately, I think Saturday's game is going to come too soon," said Barrett.
"It felt very tight after training on Monday but with the Brentford game being so important I wanted to give it as long as possible to see if I could play.
"In the warm-up it was still hindering me though.
"It was sore and tight and was very uncomfortable, especially when I had to run a bit faster.
"There was just no way I could've played, but I think I should be back for Oldham game and hopefully we can go into that with a win over Brighton because that's definitely what we need."
