Alan McCormack will not travel to Leeds United on Saturday boss Steve Tilson has confirmed.

The Irish midfielder missed Monday's 3-0 defeat against Gillingham with an ankle injury.

And that problem looks set to sideline McCormack also for this weekend's trip to Elland Road.

"Saturday's going to come too soon," Tilson confirmed to southendunited.co.uk. "He won't be travelling to Leeds.

"He's making good progress but he's not 100 per cent yet so we won't take the risk."

Blues are also without Franck Moussa who serves the final match of a three game suspension whilst Damian Scannell (foot) and Scott Spencer (knee) have been ruled out for the season.
