MALONE INJURY DOUBT

Posted on: Thu 11 Feb 2010

Southend United boss Steve Tilson has injury concerns over defender Scott Malone ahead of Saturday's match against Tranmere.

Malone took a blow to his big toe in training this morning and is a doubt for the weekend.

"Scott took a knock to his foot today and had to pull out," confirmed Tilson.

"We will have to see how he is before the weekend but he's a doubt at this moment in time."

Meanwhile, Tilson also confirmed that number two goalkeeper Ian Joyce had returned to his native America for a seven day trial with a club.

"Ian has gone to America for seven days to have a look at a club who are interested in him," said Steve.

"If Mildenhall gets injured then we will get someone on loan. Joycey wants to get home and it's a good chance for him."

Steve's full pre-Tranmere thoughts will be online on Friday morning.
