SELECTION HEADACHE AHEAD OF DERBY

Posted on: Sun 07 Feb 2010

Southend United boss Steve Tilson faces a selection headache ahead of tomorrows Essex derby with Colchester United.

Blues are definitely without defender Pat Baldwin and striker Scott Vernon for the clash at the U's Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The duo are currently on loan from Colchester and are unable to play against their parent club as part of the loan agreement.

Meanwhile, midfielder Alan McCormack will sit out the second match of his two game suspensions for accumulating ten yellow cards.

Injuries to Anthony Grant (ankle) and Stuart O'Keefe (hernia) mean they are definitely unavailable.

Question marks also hang over the fitness of Francis Laurent and Damian Scannell both of whom could also be unavailable.

However, winger Sanchez Watt - on loan from Arsenal - is expected to make his debut for Southend following his arrival at Roots Hall on deadline day.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm on Monday evening with the match live on Sky Sports.

Tickets are still available for the match from the Blues Box Office until 12pm on Monday although supporters are reminded that they can purchase on the night from Colchester.
