Southend United midfielder Anthony Grant faces between six to eight weeks on the sidelines it has been confirmed.

The 22-year-old went over on his ankle during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Swindon Town and, after having an MRI scan on the injury, it has been confirmed that he has badly damaged his ligaments.

United are now seeking further medical advice and he will visit a specialist on Thursday.

But it looks certain the midfielder will be missing for quite some time.
