Southend United boss Steve Tilson has confirmed that he has agreed a deal that will see Jean-Yves M'Voto return to Roots Hall next year.
M'Voto recently returned to parent club Sunderland this week to continue his rehabilitation from hip surgery.
His loan at Southend is due to expire at the start of next month.
But Tilson confirmed he has agreed with the Black Cats to loan the French centre-back gain once he returns to full fitness.
"We've agreed in principal for Jean-Yves to come back when he is fully fit," said Tilson.
"We didn't get to see much of him during his first six months here but when we did he was a dominating character.
"Subject to him getting back to full fitness we will be loaning him until the end of the season at some point in January."
