HERD BACK FOR DONS CLASH

Posted on: Fri 20 Nov 2009

Defender Johnny Herd should be available for tonight's Coca-Cola League One clash against Milton Keynes Dons.

Blues face the play-off contenders at Roots Hall this evening (7.45pm) and United boss Steve Tilson will be boosted by the news that left-back Herd should be in contention.

Herd, 20, has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring problem.

However, the youngster came through training on Thursday and will go straight into Southend's back four.

Meanwhile, on loan centre-back Sean Morrison will serve a one match suspension after being sent off against Yeovil last Saturday.

Morrison saw red on his Blues debut following his four week switch from Swindon Town.

And that means the 18-year-old will be unavailable for the Dons visit.

Southend's only other absentees are Osei Sankofa and Jean-Yves M'Voto who are nursing knee and hip problems respectively.
