Southend United will be without Alan McCormack and Lee Barnard for Saturday's trip to Gillingham through suspension.

The Blues duo were shown yellow cards during last night's 1-0 win over the Gills at Roots Hall.

And they will now have to sit out the re-match in the FA Cup at the Priestfield Stadium.

"We are down to 11 fit players and it is not a fantastic situation," said Southend manager Steve Tilson.

"We will have to put some youth players in and it is up to them to take their opportunity."
