Southend United have been paired with Gillingham in the first round of the FA Cup following this afternoons draw.
The Blues will face the Gills away at the Priestfield Stadium in the opening stage of the competition next month.
United were the second side out of the hat, after former Blues legend Chris Powell pulled Gillingham out first.
The two sides will have a warm-up for the clash when they meet this Friday night at Roots Hall in League One, seven days before the cup clash.
Matches are set to be played over the weekend of 7 and 8 November.
